I got my Cannabis Fundamentals Certificate!!!

I am super excited that I just finished and passed my certification test for Cannabis Fundamentals through Green Flower!! It was a lot of information, but I fell in love with what I am doing all over again! Stop selling sh*t (especially MLM products) that you have no idea about. Immerse yourself in what you are offering to your clients. I learned sooo much from this course from the history of Cannabis and what it helps with to how it is processed and how to use it effectively.

I said this before and I will keep saying it. Use this time to focus on you. I know things are crazy in the world but y’all you can come out of this situation better than ever if you play your cards right. You don’t have to do everything, but you can do something each day to get you closer to your goals. Give yourself some grace, but never allow yourself to give up or tell yourself that there is nothing you can do. I am working from home with my three daughters, my fiancé, my mother who is 74 with an amputated leg and my 70 year old aunt who is still working each day. I find time to work on my goals even with chaos’s going on around me and so can you.

I dedicated 2020 to personal and professional development and I am making a way to get it done even when I don’t feel like it because I know it will only help me be better at what I am doing in the long run. I challenge you to find something this week to work on that will help you take a step toward your goals. You got this! 💋 🌱

Sometimes this presents itself as your intuition or gut protecting you from real harm, and you should learn to identify this voice and listen to it. That’s when you really want to employ strategies to manage that nagging voice.

Listening to that inner critic can feel like such a relief. It takes the pressure off and saves you from trying something hard. However, it can also keep you from experiencing something great. It also often leaves you with the regret of what could have been. Instead, learning to recognize and push past your inner naysayer can bring you rewards beyond your imagination. Think of the friendships, romances, career successes, passions, and novelties you can experience if you silence that critic and do the thing.

What You Have to Gain

You have so many amazing things to gain by ignoring your inner naysayer. Beyond the wonderful experiences, you’ll gain confidence and self-esteem. The more you practice ignoring your negative self-talk, the easier it will become. You’ll soon notice you have the confidence to try more things because you’ve learned that you can do it and the world doesn’t end. You’ll have more fun, meet more people, try new things, and just feel better about yourself when you learn to overcome that inner naysayer.

Practice Mindfulness to Feel Better About Yourself (DAY #19 OF STOP YOUR INNER NAYSAYER WITH SELF LOVE SERIES)

You may have heard of the practice of mindfulness. It’s become all the rage in new age philosophy. And for good reason. This simple concept can deliver powerful results. Mindfulness is really just being aware of yourself and your emotions in the present moment. It involves bringing your thoughts back to the present when they begin to wander, much like meditation.

Mindfulness is knowing where your attention lies. You can use this concept when you discover that your inner naysayer is sending you negative messages. You’ve learned some strategies for recognizing this inner critic. One other way to overcome it is to use mindfulness to manage these thoughts once you recognize them.

Countering your own negative self-talk immediately in the moment with mindfulness is an effective way to deal with it. By managing these messages, you’ll gradually increase your self-esteem. Read on to discover some ways to use mindfulness to feel better about yourself.

Use Visualization

Visualization is a way of helping to make your positive thoughts a reality. When you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, counter them with a vision of things going well. Try to include details in that vision, such as what you’re wearing, your surroundings, and even how you feel. Doing this practice routinely has been shown to actually rewire your brain to act as though your vision were actually happening. Over time, you’ll begin to gain the self-confidence you have in your vision.

Try to discover its roots or meanings. Getting to the bottom of these messages and their resulting feelings as they’re happening can help you to give them the boot and replace them with kinder thoughts.

Take Risks

Being mindful can also mean being proactive in your actions. Deciding in the moment to try something new or push past your fear to take a risk is a fantastic way to feel more secure in your abilities. You’ll gain lots of strides the more you practice taking risks, so give it a shot today. Feel free to start small and increase your reach over time.

Acknowledge What You’re Doing Right

Counter your thoughts about what an awful person you are or what you’re doing wrong with an acknowledgement of what you’re doing right. There’s always something good about yourself you can note if you dig deep. This will get easier with time, so don’t feel like you have to immediately heap tons of praise upon yourself. Try just taking note of one small thing you’ve done right today to offset the self-critical thought you’re having. Then, see how much lighter your mood feels.

You may still feel unsure about the idea of self-love, especially if you’ve been taught your whole life to put others ahead of yourself and that it’s selfish to take care of yourself. Hopefully, you’re beginning to see now that self-care is an important part of developing as a healthy person. Valuing yourself is not the same as narcissism. In this post, you’ll discover what it means to be a narcissist and the ways in which self-love is different. Take a look.

What is a Narcissist?

A narcissist takes loving themselves to the extreme. They take this exclusion of others to the extent that they actually tend to lack empathy. Narcissists tend to compare themselves to other people, always needing to be considered better. If they don’t feel they excel in comparison, they often become angry. Not only are they concerned with being better than others, they also must keep up appearances. They are worried that those around them won’t see them as a stellar employee, caring spouse, or a good friend. They’re more worried about how they look in playing the role rather than how they actually perform it and how they treat others. They also want the people around them to validate how wonderful they are. They enjoy heaps of praise for their performance. They also look to status symbols for their worth – such as fancy cars, impressive titles, and expensive jewelry. In addition, the narcissist usually sees things as black or white. They love you or they hate you. The underlying reasons for all these traits is that they don’t hold themselves in high regard..

Why Self-Love is Different

Self-love differs from narcissism because the individual who loves themselves actually has positive feelings about their worth as a person. Their actions are driven by the fact that they have compassion for themselves and care about others. Self-love without narcissism involves thinking highly of yourself without needing to feel better than others. It is concerned with doing well for the sake of the end result, not simply to look good. When you genuinely love yourself, you also want to do right by others, and you aren’t interested merely in how you come across. Your actions aren’t driven by deep-seated insecurity and self-loathing.

Why It Matters

It’s important to understand the difference between self-love and narcissism if you want to fully embrace self-love without second guessing yourself. The fact that you’re concerned with being self-centered matters. This shows that you are concerned with being a good person and with your effect on the people around you. This fact usually indicates that you don’t have to worry about becoming a narcissist.

Yesterday, we talked about how to recognize your inner naysayer when it pops up in your mind. I hope it helped you to identify the reasons why it is so important and ways for you to manage it. Self-love is needed, but oftentimes we forget to or don’t know how to practice it.

By now, you should have a fairly good idea of what self-love is and why it’s important. You know that confidence and self-awareness are essential components of loving yourself. What you might be wondering is how to start practicing self-love on a regular basis so that you can begin to internalize new messages and rid yourself of that pesky naysayer once and for all. Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to cultivate self-love on a regular basis. Take a look.

Focus on the Here and Now

Too often, we find ourselves looking at the past with longing or waiting for someday. It’s hard to love yourself and your life when you don’t appreciate what you have in the moment. Centering yourself on the present, being mindful, and practicing gratitude are quick ways to cultivate an appreciation for what you have right now.

Work on Your Goals

Setting goals that reflect your values will help you to feel you’re living a life of purpose. You’ll know you’re taking real steps toward growing as a person when you’re regularly doing things that will bring you closer to your desires. Proactively using your time rather than just absent-mindedly going with the flow and putting out fires is quite empowering.

Set Boundaries

Boundaries are an important part of self-care. Setting boundaries means you put yourself and your needs first sometimes. This is a healthy approach to life and ensures you have the energy to take care of the things that matter. Saying no to toxic relationships and unnecessary obligations will free your spirit and keep you from becoming burnt out.

Take Care of Yourself

It can be hard to take time for yourself in this busy world full of obligations. This is especially true when you’ve gotten in the habit of putting yourself last on the list. To experience true self-love, you need to start giving yourself higher priority. You can do this by eating well, exercising, taking time for a hobby, pampering yourself, or any other activity that focuses on your wellbeing.

Forgive Yourself

Most of all, you must learn to forgive yourself to truly love yourself. We all make mistakes. It’s a part of the human condition. Some of those mistakes will be serious and life altering. Allowing yourself understanding and care regarding those things will show you that you’re still worthy despite your faults. This is a crucial lesson on the road to embracing self-love.

These are just a handful of examples of some ways you can easily begin the practice of self-love. If even this many strategies seems overwhelming, feel free to begin trying just a couple. This is a process that takes time, effort, and practice.

Yesterday, I gave you ways to tell if you should listen to your inner naysayer and today I am going to give you some tips on how to recognize when your inner naysayer shows up.

As you’ve discovered in our time together, your inner naysayer can present itself in several ways. Often, it shows up as a negative voice that keeps you from moving toward your goals or trying something new. Sometimes, though, it can be helpful and clue you in that something isn’t quite right. Regardless, your inner naysayer is usually trying to protect you in some way. What’s most important is acting in a positive and proactive way when you receive these internal messages, whether they’re useful or detrimental. In order to take action that benefits you, you’ll first need to recognize your inner naysayer when it pipes up. Keep reading to learn how to do just that.

Why You Need to Recognize Your Inner Naysayer

Chances are you’ve been living with your inner naysayer for as long as you can remember. That means it’s likely that you are so used to hearing it in your head that you probably don’t even notice it. That’s bad news. If you don’t recognize your inner critic, you can’t deal with it. Without recognizing it and addressing it, you’re simply reacting to it – acting on autopilot. Giving in to your reactions or acting in habitual ways can be harmful because you’re not fully in charge when that happens. Instead, your negative emotions are guiding you. You’re not making an informed decision. Therefore, you probably won’t achieve the results you truly desire. In order to take purposeful action and take control of your life, you need to recognize and deal with your inner naysayer.

How to Recognize Your Inner Naysayer

Your inner naysayer can be sneaky. It usually comes around when you’re about to do something important, so keep that in mind. When something is good for your growth, but perhaps a bit out of your comfort zone, your inner critic might pipe up to keep you from taking that risk. It also might come around when you’re feeling fearful or unsure. It also likes to rear its head when you really want something.

Pay attention and listen for messages like these in order to recognize your inner naysayer:

  • I don’t deserve good things.
  • I’ll mess it up.
  • It’s too hard.
  • I’m too old.
  • I’m not smart enough.
  • Good things never happen for me.
  • It’s selfish to want that.
  • I don’t have what it takes.
  • I’m not that talented.
  • Someone else is better than me.
  • I’m no good at that.
  • I’m too fat.
  • I’m not pretty enough.

Self-doubt is frequently connected to these types of messages. While it’s normal to wonder if you have what it takes to achieve something new, these types of messages can truly sabotage your success.

Steps to Manage Your Inner Naysayer

There are ways to manage your inner naysayer. Take note of the types of messages you tell yourself most often. Then watch for what triggers those messages. Recognizing those triggers can help you to take control of the situation instead of giving into the negative self-talk. It’s also helpful to try to figure out where these messages came from. Others may have told you things in the past, and you’ve internalized these beliefs as your own. Knowing how you developed these thoughts will help you to look at them more realistically. Finally, once you have a realistic handle on these words, turn them around into something more positive. Tell yourself a message that is based in reality and that encourages you, rather than discourages you.

Your inner naysayer has been around for a long time, but it doesn’t have to be in charge of you. It is possible to overcome its negative effects. With practice, you’ll soon be able to recognize your inner naysayer and manage its messages.
